We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Property Maintenance Operative Apprentice to join us on a a 2 year apprenticeship scheme. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.   

 

The role:

  • Support the site facilities team in the delivery of Hard and Soft Facilities Management services
  • To work and train under supervision and to achieve a qualification in an associated trade.
  • To undertake scheduled planned and reactive maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • To undertake scheduled installation works under supervision.
  • Respond promptly and politely to service requests, including those received directly from the client
  • Effectively communicate and build relationships with the internal team, building users and client representatives
  • Ongoing awareness of Health and Safety and follow procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • To attend college for theoretical and practical experience and manage own college workload and take ownership for timely completion of assignments
  • Working 37.5 hours per week, from 08:00 to 16:30 with a one hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday; with one of these days being in college; this is a 2 year apprenticeship

The person:

  • 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C/9-4, including English and Maths
  • Willingness to work in a trainee role to attain a range of technical skills
  • Understanding of building services installation and basic electrical maintenance techniques at a rudimentary level essential
  • Understanding of drawings desirable
  • IT Literate
  • Experience working in a team (either from work, education or hobbies)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous customer service experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence
