Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant on a permanent basis for our Lancashire Schools’ contract. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
Responsible for the Completion of PPM in the timescales produced. File all assigned PPM’s onsite in the correct location. Assist the technical team with completion of issues as and when required.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Organise, manage and monitor PPM’s
2. Rectify corrective works raised on the completed PPM’s
3. Assist the technical team with issues across the sites when required
4. Carry out minor routine maintenance tasks in accordance with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme, including pre-planned maintenance tasks during the school holidays.
5. Monitor and adjust as necessary to ensure plant and associated systems perform within set limits. 
6. Carry out internal and external routine inspections of the school premises. 
7. Assist in the preparation of reports. Maintain and update records as appropriate.
8. May be needed for the support of out of hours activities.  
9. Ensure adequate supplies and other consumable items are available for job completion.
10. Ensure the correct procedures are followed for the safe and efficient handling of waste.
11. Respond in a safe manner to the effects of adverse weather conditions.   
12. Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, Company and recommended guidelines.
13. Report any issues to the Supervisor and make recommendations on improving the service.  
14. Undertake training as necessary to maintain the requirements of the service.
15. Storekeeping
16. Cover RP Duties during absences.
17. Collaborate and co-operate with work colleagues, school representatives and users of the school’s facilities to deliver a customer focussed service. Contribute to the goals and aims of the school.
18. Support the Company’s commitment to Safety First, Incident & Injury free culture and sustainable environment.

Experience 
•Good hand and tool skills
•General DIY knowledge 

Education/Qualification
•Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety principles
•Able to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines
