Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and execute critical maintenance operations within our pharmaceutical facility. This role will ensure that equipment and facilities are maintained to meet stringent safety, compliance, and operational standards. The Lead Maintenance Technician will coordinate daily maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and play a key role in implementing preventive maintenance programs essential to our production and facility operations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform and oversee maintenance tasks for HVAC systems, production machinery, lab equipment, and other critical systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Lead and execute preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinate daily assignments, setting priorities for maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team’s technical skills and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to OSHA, GMP, and other regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Conduct regular safety checks and audits, addressing potential hazards or compliance issues proactively.
- Coordinate with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to support facility-wide safety initiatives and emergency response preparedness.
Preventive Maintenance Program Management
- Assist in developing and optimizing the preventive maintenance schedule for all facility systems and equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce operational costs.
Inventory & Parts Management
- Monitor spare parts and supplies inventory to ensure availability of critical parts, ordering as necessary.
- Work with vendors to source quality parts, services, and materials, managing vendor relationships to meet facility needs.
Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to implement process improvements for maintenance workflows and equipment efficiency.
- Lead root cause analysis on equipment failures and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on advancements in maintenance technology and techniques to enhance team capabilities and facility operations.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Is authorized to work in the US;
- Is qualified to pass a security screening and medical examination;
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and other regulatory standards relevant to pharmaceutical facilities.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, production equipment, and other facility systems common in pharmaceutical environments.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds and work in environments requiring PPE.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, on-site role with occasional after-hours or weekend support for emergency maintenance.
- Physical ability to work on ladders, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions as needed.
