We have a great opportunity for a HV ICP Manager to work on a street lighting and highways lighting projects, specialising in the maintenance, installation, and repair of LED lighting assets across various locations in the UK.
The ideal candidate will manage the implementation of high-voltage electrical frameworks for an Independent Connection Provider (ICP); as part of our wider projects.
Key Responsibilities:
High Voltage Accreditation:
- Lead the process of obtaining High Voltage accreditation by meeting the requirements set by relevant authorities and standards
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards for high voltage testing and calibration.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for accreditation
NERS Accreditation Maintenance:
- Maintain NERS accreditation by adhering to the scheme’s requirements and undergoing regular audits
- Implement and monitor quality management systems to ensure ongoing compliance with NERS standards
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of work procedures and risk assessments.
ICP Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to establish the company as an Independent Connection Provider (ICP)
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all high voltage projects comply with industry standards and client specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of work.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians in high voltage procedures and safety protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and support for high voltage installations, testing, and maintenance.
- Encourage a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Skills, qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
- Solid experience in managing HV electrical distribution systems, preferably in an ICP environment or with utilities.
- In-depth knowledge of HV electrical systems, network design, and regulatory requirements (e.g. NERS, IEC, ENA, Ofgem).
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices, particularly in high-voltage environments.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering large-scale projects in compliance with technical specifications and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
