Equans is looking for a Treasury Assistant to join our team based in Quorum Business Park, Newcastle on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?
- Prepare and process manual payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Update the cash books on a daily basis and process any sweep entries in SAP.
- Run scheduled supplier BACS payment runs across all entities, including foreign currency.
- Maintain the treasury mailbox in a professional, timely and accurate manner and providing timely resolution to queries on an ad hoc basis.
- Complete bank reconciliations on all Barclays, NatWest and HSBC accounts on a monthly basis, working with other EBS teams to clear down unreconciled items and ensuring action plans are in place for aged items where necessary.
- Complete cash pool reconciliations.
- Ensure all direct debits and standing orders are reflected in SAP and are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure they are still required and have up to date owners.
- Check accuracy of all supplier bank detail changes made by procurement daily.
- Upload the Barclays bank statements into SAP daily.
- Liaising with AR to compare receipt values at month end and month start.
- Provide daily cash forecast to Group Treasury to allow it to manage pool balances.
- Produce monthly reporting, including cash forecast, cash actuals and comparisons by collating data from cash books and working with the business to ensure forecasts are as accurate as possible.
- Produce weekly liquidity report, ensuring data is consistent and accurate before sharing with the wider business.
- Undertake or contribute to routine and ad-hoc management reporting and contribute to any special projects as requested.
- Quality checks on various tasks, including SAP postings and cash book coding, ensuring all data entered is accurate.
- Challenge existing ways of working and develop a continuous improvement culture.
- Review and maintain existing processes and systems and support development of new systems and processes.
- Assist with audit data requests and queries.
- Maintain positive banking relationships.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience of working in a Treasury / Banking environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to challenge at appropriate levels within the business / organisation.
- Proficient user of MS Excel.
- SAP experience would be a desirable.
- Experience of banking systems.
This role includes a Basic DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
