Station Reception Officer
Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Station Reception Officer to join our operational team at Sutton Police Station. This is a permanent full-time shift based position working an average of 40 hours per week, 12 hour shifts with a one hour unpaid break, 07:00 to 19:00 / 19:00 to 07:00. What will you deliver?
- Reports to Facilities & Services Manager
- Providing an efficient first point of contact for members of the public
- Answer calls promptly and clearly before re-routing callers accordingly
- Operate computer systems accurately to record enquires
- Receive and administer property
- To be responsible for the security, safety and tidiness of the station reception areas
- Working an average of 40 hours per week on a 5 on 3 off shift pattern, 10 hour shifts, earlies, lates and nights.
- May be required to provide occasional cover at other sites within SE London

Apprentice Trainee Manager
Equans are recruiting for a X2 Apprentice Trainee Managers to be based in Birmingham on a 36 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
General Overview:
The Apprentice Trainee Manager supports the safe and effective delivery of construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects within social housing properties. Working under the guidance of experienced Site and Project Managers, the role provides hands-on training in site supervision, compliance management, and operational delivery. The Trainee Site Manager will assist in coordinating operatives, subcontractors, and materials, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards — while maintaining excellent relationships with residents and clients.
What will you deliver?
- Assist the Site Manager in the planning, organisation, and day-to-day coordination of site activities across multiple social housing projects.
- Support the delivery of works in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, promoting a strong culture of safety and resident care.
- Help manage site logistics, including access, deliveries, and waste management, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and the local community.
- Contribute to site briefings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings with trade teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Monitor works in progress, recording site activity, quality inspections, and progress updates using digital management systems.
- Assist in the supervision of subcontractors and operatives to ensure works are completed to specification, safely and efficiently.

What will you deliver?
- To provide an effective, professional administration support to operational / FM team
- To advise sub-contractors regarding invoicing requirements and check validity of sub-contractors advice notes and invoices

Lifecycle Project Site Supervisor

What will you deliver?
- Manage the site delivery of capital works and lifecycle projects as part of the project delivery team at the QEH

The Senior Commercial Manager will lead the development and delivery of the PFI Expiry Strategy across the portfolio of PFI contracts within Sustainable FM. - Defining and/or advising on PFI expiry commercial strategy including development of asset and documentation sub-strategies.

Mechanical Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick and Sandwell General Hospital in West Bromwich. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Work on the following but not limited to; ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systems
- Undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to complete diagnostic, fault finding and repair to complex mechanical systems in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance
- Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls during nightshift, acting as the initial point of contact. Assess the nature of the issue, allocate the task to the appropriate team member, and complete the necessary documentation. Ensure all records are handed over to the Helpdesk team at the start of their shift to support effective service continuity
- Obtain Competent Person status following training and instruction for systems such as specialist ventilation system, complex water systems and medical gas installations
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to services across site on various aspects of the building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training

Who are you?
- City and Guilds/NVQ levels 2 and 3
- Recognised apprenticeship in relevant engineering discipline to City & Guilds level

General Maintenance Operative
EQUANS are looking for a General Maintenance Operative (GMO) to be based at Southwark Crown Court for our HMCTS contract. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Equans provide technical and soft services to our client HMCTS across a large portfolio of buildings across the UK. As part of the service, we provide low voltage electrical maintenance and installation services, and because of business growth, we are recruiting for additional roles to provide these services for our customer.
Main Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Activities will include but not limited to –
•Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
•Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
•Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
•Inspect/replace lamps / tubes
•Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
•Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
•Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
•Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
•Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
•Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
•Carry out reactive / Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
•Escorting contractors
•External Litter picking
•Flat roof cleaning, including gullies and drains
•Basic general grounds maintenance tasks
•Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
•Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
•Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding planned and reactive activities and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
•Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
•To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
•Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
•Ensure the professional image of Equans is presented to clients at all times
•Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
•Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site carrying out associated Fabric tasks
•To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
•To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
•Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
•Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
•Ensure CAFM system, e.g. Maximo, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
•To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
The position will require you to provide support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

•Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests

•Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive activities
•Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract if required
Compliance
•To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP and Water Hygiene CP to permit Lamp changing and L8 activities e.g. tap flushing
•Produce Condition / Dilapidation Reports as required for fabric assets
•Ensure supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur
SHEQ
•Comply with requests for information from SHEQ manager
•Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
•Ensue PPE is safe to use
•Report accident and near misses in a timely manner
•Ensure your test equipment is within calibration
•Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works
Impact:
Working to high standard of service, we require a fully reliable and competent Handyman/Fabric Tech who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing good quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.
Complexity:
The successful candidate will have the ability to work unaided and build rapports with end users and customers, promoting EQUANS’ values.
Have an excellent knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and/or painting/decorating techniques.
Have an eye for detail and be conscious of quality standards.
Qualifications or Required Experience:

Experience
Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment. Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques.

Retrofit Coordinator
Equans is looking for a Retrofit Coordinator to join our team in Coleshill, Birmingham due to increase with work loads. This is a full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle, bonus and benefits package.
You will be responsible for the management of the retrofit assessment and coordination process, including Survey Software Tool Development, Customer Journey and Trustmark Compliance on both survey and technical solutions.
What will you deliver?
- To have full responsibility for the overall management and delivery of the PAS2035 process, including assessment, design, installation and handover and monitoring, as defined in PAS processes
- Manage the retrofit survey process throughout the central region (Midlands), ensuring high standards of quality and compliance throughout the process
- Work with Sustainability Manager & central Sustainability Team in establishing EQUANS as the partner of choice in energy efficiency retrofit solutions through SHDF, LAD, ECO and any other available funding streams
- Provide accurate and effective energy modelling using RdSAP and full SAP, and provide guidance on solutions for meeting specific scheme criteria
- Manage the PAS2035 lodgement process on TrustMark in accordance with main contract delivery programmes to allow timely draw down of funding
- Ensure that the entire end to end surveying process and customer journey provides the highest standards for both our ‘traditional customers’ (RSLs, LAs etc) as well at the end user customers (House Owners, tenants etc)
- Implement and manage an audit programme on both internal and external Assessors to ensure high standards of surveys
