Equans is looking for a Head of Business Improvement & Performance to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
Reporting to the Business Solutions Director – Operational Excellence, the Head of Performance Improvement will be tasked with spearheading the shift in focus and execution of essential performance measurement strategies that significantly enhance overall performance standards. This, in turn, will lead to sustainable performance that allows for proportional performance deductions across the various sectors within SFM North.
The role requires close collaboration with operational leadership and management teams, including performance managers, to develop solutions that promote standardisation and efficiency for the SFM North portfolio, which encompasses Healthcare, Education, and Blue Light PFI contracts.
What will you deliver?
- Take a leading role in assisting the Business Solutions Director in advancement of the overall Operational Excellence strategy, while also being accountable for deputising for the BSD as needed, both in terms of team leadership and through opportunities at the executive and regional levels.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to include BUD/ Operations Directors and Business Services Director at BSC/SSC to develop and refine the optimum Performance & Jeopardy management strategy through design and implementation of innovative digital and AI technologies that enhance performance data accuracy, real time reporting and ensure compliance at contract and portfolio level.
- Establish and execute a standardised method for overseeing real-time reporting of essential service metrics via CAFM. This approach aims to enhance the accuracy and transparency of performance, facilitate the exchange of best practices, and enable effective troubleshooting to reduce risks associated with inconsistencies and performance deficiencies.
- Perform a strategic assessment of essential contracts to tackle the significant performance deductions resulting from underlying issues.
- Collaborate with operational and functional leaders to develop and implement targeted contract improvement strategies aimed at enhancing the consistency of service delivery and meeting quality KPI objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate performance of these metrics to ensure operational effectiveness and delivery of the respective PERFORM targets.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience in Operational Management or strategic management roles in the Facilities Services industry.
- Proven track record of driving business performance and implementing successful solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in facilities management across the multiple sectors.
