Site Quality Manager (M/ W)
Location: Bristol (UK)
About the role:
Reporting to the Construction Director, we are seeking an experienced Site Quality Manager to join our team in Bristol and play a key role in the successful delivery of a major nuclear project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all contract quality requirements are effectively integrated into the Project Management System and implemented by project teams and subcontractors. You will lead the Site Quality team and ensure the delivery of construction, installation, and commissioning activities to the highest quality standards within a highly regulated nuclear environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all contract quality requirements are incorporated into the Project Management System and effectively applied by project personnel and subcontractors.
- Own, maintain, and update the Contract Quality Control Plan as required.
- Lead and manage the Site Quality team.
- Organize and manage the project’s quality inspection capability, including resources, staffing, and processes.
- Oversee the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and associated documentation, including policies, plans, procedures, guidelines, and registers.
- Define and implement the Document Management Process and ensure that the document control system supports Quality Management System requirements.
- Establish and maintain trackers for quality-related near misses, non-conformances, and complaints.
- Monitor non-conformances and ensure timely follow-up and closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Plan and conduct audits and surveillance activities, ensuring effective follow-up and closure of audit findings.
- Ensure Quality Assurance reviews, inspections, and quality controls are carried out in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Promote a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement across the project.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Quality Management within large-scale construction and commissioning projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK nuclear quality standards, quality assurance, and quality control requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with standards such as:
- ISO 19443
- ISO 9001:2015
- IAEA quality requirements and guidance
- Experience developing and implementing Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and associated quality documentation.
- Auditor qualification and practical auditing experience in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 19443:2018.
- Experience managing quality activities within a nuclear or similarly highly regulated environment.
