Network Architect Lead (M/F - any location)

Key responsibilities :

The role reports to the SLS Infrastructure Engineering Lead who is based in France. The role will be part of the global IT team with IT colleague’s members across the globe.

Network Architect Lead for Shared Line of Service Infrastructure will lead the Architectural orientations and decisions for network & security infrastructure services for the EQUANS organisation, in alignment with the Corporate Architect and EQUANS strategy.

The role of Lead Architect is to drive Infrastructure direction for new services, improve the existing and ensure they are properly operated by partner “Business As Usual” (BAU) teams.

Architect Lead will manage the network experts responsible of products delivered by the SLS infrastructure, ensuring they can fully assume their role of product owners for their respective services under their responsibility. Experts can be localised worldwide in Equans organisation.

Key missions :

  • Managing Network Expertise Team
  • Prioritizing Network Team activities backlog
  • Defining objectives of each member of the Network team.
  • Organising communication with Network expertise team.
  • Defining SLS infrastructure Network & Security services
  • Supporting Service Catalog Product for Network Services of SLS infrastructure
  • Defining and following the right KPI for services catalog products.
  • Creating the process to monitor and measure satisfaction with network services catalog products.
  • Defining financial model prior to engage in a new SLS infrastructure service.
  • Ensuring regular communication and popularization of the services catalog products
  • Getting personally involved in Services design or support.
  • Leading RFPs with multiple vendors to select the most appropriate proposal.
  • Ensuring coordination of Experts activities following agile methodology.
  • Ensuring Architecture boards approbation for Services design (DA, ARB, CRB, IC)
  • Ensuring services are aligned with Equans SLA (BAU Support response, Backup, Monitoring)
  • Responding to customer requests and providing quotations in collaboration with the other teams and the Business Relationship Manager.
  • Collaborating and participating in other Services of SLS.
  • Participating to the meetings at SLS or corporate level to provide insights on the SLS Infrastructure services.
  • Taking responsibility as Network Champions in the Equans organization.

The role is an integral part of the business plan to move towards a fully integrated business with a service orientated ethic.

Experience

  • Likely to be an IT professional with at least 15 years’ experience.
  • Experience in managing teams with network expertise.
  • Experience in designing services based on market technologies to support business needs hosted in Hybrid Cloud environments.
  • Some experience in Agile methodology.
  • Significative experience in worldwide large companies
  • Expertise in designing network infrastructure services and their delivery (SWAN, Lan, Wifi, NAC, Internet Access, VPN, Firewalling, Backbone …)
  • Have planned and rolled out all the relevant ITIL processes as required.
  • Understand and has managed Service-level requirements as defined in the Service Catalogue – relevant KPIs will form the service management quadrant of the departments balanced scorecard.
  • Understand full compliance with security and Risk assurance assessments and resultant actions – following all relevant INCOME controls.
  • fluency in English

Assistant Estates Manager Boilerhouse

Equans is looking for an Assistant Estates Manager- Boiler house to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The role is to assist the Technical Services Managers in the provision of Hard FM & Lifecycle Services whilst delivering a high-quality and statutory compliant maintenance service.

The role is vital to ensure that the estate is maintained to a high compliant standard and that all statutory requirements are fully complied with and documented for all services and facilities under the control of the contract.

The post holder will manage the Boiler house, team, and assist in the operation, repair and maintenance of the plant.

There is an expectation to participate in the out of hours on call rota, currently 1 in 5

Working Hours Mon – Fri 0800 - 1600

What will you deliver?

  • Work in collaboration with the other AEM’s to provide an efficient and cohesive service across the Estate
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of the Boiler house team including Planned, Corrective and Reactive maintenance tasks
  • Managing and directing staff in a safe and efficient manner
  • Deliver training to staff on relevant subjects as appropriate so experience is gained (e.g., toolbox talks & trade specific subject matter)
  • Regularly meet with directly employed staff (collectively irrespective of their trade function and individually) to discuss performance and complete employee appraisals
  • Manage absence and utilization within the team effectively ensuring the rota is covered as necessary
  • Responsible for the action and validation of time sheets, on-call sheet, Annual leave requests and general personnel issues
  • Ensure that planned and scheduled preventative maintenance activities using the Maximo system or other works management system, are compliant with Statute, Contract Requirements, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s)
  • Ensuring that all staff and subcontractors Response and Rectification times are met, and repairs are undertaken diligently, with due care and without undue delay
  • Carry out inspections and audits of both in house and 3rd party staff to ensure compliance with Contract Requirements, in a timely manner, to the required standard and documented correctly
  • Managing and resolving incidents of non-compliance across the Estate in line with Contract and Company Requirements
  • Responsible for the safety of plant, equipment and infrastructure, compliance documentation and for safe working practices

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for leading all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple or high-value projects. Electrical Engineer

Equans is looking for an Electrical Engineer to work on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This is a permanent, part-time role, working 16 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
 

What will you deliver?

  • Effectively perform electrical maintenance of all relevant assets, especially lighting and small power (including stock control), through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner. There will be a requirement in completing reactive tasks that get raised

  • Carry out work on the following but not limited to; day to day maintenance and repairs, weekly and monthly fire alarm testing, emergency lighting

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

EQUANS is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our refurbishment team, this is a full time permanent role.  Our head office base is Hatfield however this role will be based at our Slough Site. We offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

This role is to work as part of our refurbishment team on social housing properties, you will be working on internal and external works. Our ideal candidate would have experience in CVRs, working with sub contractors and schedular rates.

What will you deliver? 

  • Management and control of subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts in line with the main contract and sub-contract data base
  • Post-tender internal and external pricing analysis/assessment for sign-off whilst ensuring within budget
  • Conduct contract risk and opportunity assessment to identify these areas and plan for them accordingly to ensure pricing remains on budget without undermining Health and Safety.
  • Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information (collateral warranties, PCG’s, etc)
  • Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects.
  • Commercial reporting / CVRs completed independently to be submitted for MQS approval
  • Logical and auditable preparation of relevant documentation for valuation, procurement and commercial administration

About the Role:
We are looking for a Part-Time Administrator to join our Sustainable FM team at Equans. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract role, working 20 hours per week. You will provide vital support to the senior management team, ensuring the smooth operation of our contract services. This position is perfect for someone with excellent attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Reactive Lifecycle submissions and track completed works.
  • Submit and manage invoices, ensuring any discrepancies or queries are promptly addressed.
  • Crosscheck completed works against the billing schedule and update the system accordingly.
  • Maintain statutory and non-statutory documentation and ensure compliance.
  • Provide support for technical report document control and submission of Reactive Lifecycle documentation to clients.
  • Collaborate with the contract finance team to review Works in Progress (WIP) and ensure all billable works are captured.
  • Manage and process defects impacting sites across the contract.
  • Act as the Nominated Responsible Businessperson for the contract.

What you will deliver? 

  • Promoting a safety-first culture in the business and ensure compliance to the company's Management System. Influence site management on best practice and compliance requirements

Estimator / Senior Estimator

EQUANS are recruiting for an Estimator / Senior Estimator to be based in Seaham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview

Providing an estimating and tendering service from receipt to submission with the objective to achieve/exceed the Company Budget.  To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Clients, Designers, Subcontractors and Suppliers
  • Work with other members of the Pre-Construction and Bid teams to develop the bid strategy
  • Accurately review tender documentation
  • Issue relevant information to legal team for review and share completed review
  • Carry out site visits in order to view, address and mitigate risks wherever possible
  • Prepare and issue sub-contract and material enquiries. Manage receipt of quotations in a timely manner to achieve competitive market rates
  • Where required produce accurate take-off using estimating software. If outsourced externally coordinate the issue of information and ensure take off completed to the required standard and accuracy
  • Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using estimating software. Identify risks and opportunities and assess the potential impact on the project together with any necessary qualifications
  • Liaise with Pre-Construction and Delivery teams to assess the programme requirements in order to develop and cost a suitable preliminaries allowance
  • Present estimate for review and final settlement
  • On secured projects prepare and deliver information for handover to the contract team
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and efficiently in different market sectors i.e., New Build, Refurbishment, Commercial, Education, etc.
  • Work effectively with other members of the estimating department and wider business in order to achieve the most effective and competitive solutions
  • Develop cost information from first principles
  • Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
  • Assist in developing Company estimating library
  • Complete all mandatory and non-mandatory training and assist in the development of other staff
