Equans is looking for a Programme Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
Working in collaboration with Category Hub Leaders – Indirect and Direct, Head of Procurement DE&S, SFM, P&C, the Procure to Perform – Programme Manager plays a crucial role in enabling the delivery of the Procure to PERFORM strategy. This involves ensuring high-quality service delivery, executing the PERFORM program’s strategic goals, and promoting an innovative approach to procurement.
The Procure to Perform – Programme Manager is a strategically focused role that actively participates in PERFORM program delivery and primarily seeks to drive value and financial benefit within the procurement function. Serving as an essential link between the execution of the PERFORM program and Equans’ overall strategic objectives, the main focus is on supporting initiatives that positively impact COP. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential, however the role prioritises engagements that attribute to financial benefit. In scenarios where financial value cannot be quantified, such activities fall outside of this position’s support. This value-based approach ensures that efforts are aligned with the Equans financial targets and objectives maximising value of this position.
What will you deliver?
- Implement and adhere to standardised project management approach, that ensure consistent execution and optimal outcomes for PERFORM Programme
- Support the Category Management (CM) team in developing the PERFORM strategy, timelines, and reporting schedules
- Support category strategy alignment to both the PERFORM Programme and business needs
- Support delivery of the Procure to perform project commitments across the procurement function
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, dependencies and implement mitigation strategies
- Offer a robust PMO service, emphasising project management best practices (support with strategy design and analysis)
- Track and report on cost reduction achievements
- Track and report on non-financial achievements
- Support procurement stakeholders to validate budget impact
- Actively troubleshoot, identifying bottlenecks and recommending process, governance, and best practice changes to ensure the successful delivery of PERFORM targets
- Maintenance and enhancement of core central and operation procurement governance and guidance that can influence PERFOM Programme execution
- Proactively analyse and identify areas of potential enhancement within the procurement processes. Where these is evidence of potential financial gains or advancements in the delivery of the PERFORM Programme, recommend, and champion the necessary process changes to capture these benefits
- Champion change within the organisation, cultivating a culture of innovation and continual improvement in alignment with PERFORM targets
- Demonstrate integrity, commitment, and accountability in all aspects of the project
- Coordinate and ensure timely reporting based on the committed schedule, effectively communicating results and updates to relevant stakeholders

Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience of a leadership role within the construction, or related industries
- Previous experience of a senior procurement role within the construction or related industries
- Experience of working on civil engineering, mechanical or electrical facilities in project focused roles
- Detailed of understanding of construction technology and methods
- Demonstrable experience of presenting complex technical, planning, and associated info to provide cost effective solutions
- Significant experience in developing work winning solutions with operational and business development stakeholders to drive better technical solutions and outcomes
- Recognised as a subject matter expert and capable of contributing to technical discussions specific to the category and supporting the development of valued engineering or alternative product selection
- A strong and established network of category suppliers and subcontractors and the ability to make informed supply chain selection decisions based on project scope
- Strong analytical abilities, and the ability to analyse complex category data to drive supply chain selectivity and risk mitigation
- Have or be working towards a recognised e.g., CIPS, CIOB, RICS, ICE or similar relevant qualification is desirable
