Senior Legal Counsel

As Senior Legal Counsel at Equans, you contribute to major infrastructure and innovative projects with a visible impact. You support teams by providing clear legal frameworks and ensuring guidance at every stage of a project, from tendering through to execution. You translate legal matters into clear insights within activities that take shape around you every day.

Your work location: Brussels.

Zoom on the job:

• review public and private tender documents during the tender phase and provide practical advice during the execution phase
• draft, discuss and follow up various agreements, including complex contracts, construction contracts, joint venture agreements, maintenance contracts and shareholders’ agreements
• share accessible legal insights on a wide range of topics aligned with Equans’ activities, such as contract law, law of obligations and public procurement
• monitor national disputes and claims involving Equans, in consultation with the relevant stakeholders

Come as you are, ideally with:

• a master’s degree in law
• at least 7 to 8 years of experience as a lawyer and/or in-house legal counsel
• experience or a strong interest in contract law, construction law, public procurement, and topics related to digital and carbon transition
• comfortable discussing and managing complex contracts and transactions
• insight into non-legal aspects of projects, such as commercial, financial, technical or strategic elements
• clear communication skills and attention to long-term, sustainable collaboration
• a positive and pragmatic mindset, with room for initiative and close collaboration with colleagues
• fluent spoken and written Dutch and French
