Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance,
safety, and operations of our pharmaceutical facilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum
of 10 years of experience in facilities management, with a strong background in managing
complex environments within the pharmaceutical, Life science, GMP, Biotech, R&D and or
Manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the daily operations of all facility functions, including but not limit to
    maintenance, safety, janitorial services, GMP scope, compliance, landscaping, pest
    control, IFM scope of Hard and Soft services
  • Develop and implement facility management policies, procedures, and standards to
    ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing,
    and structural systems.
  • Manage facility budgets, including planning and allocation of resources for maintenance
    and improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facility
    operations, including safety, environmental standards and manufacturing process.
  • Lead and manage a team of facility staff and contractors, providing guidance, training,
    and performance evaluations.
  • Plan and oversee renovations, refurbishments, and building projects to ensure timely and
    cost-effective completion.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure
    facilities meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and ensure seamless
    facility operations.
  • Respond to emergencies and facility-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ability to organize and multi-task in a high-volume and fast paced environment

Qualifications:

  •  Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in the
    pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a
    related field is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of facility management best practices, including maintenance, safety,
    and compliance standards preferably in the pharmaceutical or similarly regulated
    industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in facility management software and systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget planning and management.
  • Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management
    Professional (FMP) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of GxP & GMP practices
  • Ability to develop and review key SOP’s relatingAuthorized to work in United States

Junior Lifecycle Project Manager


Equans is looking for a Junior Lifecycle Project Manager to join our team based at Salford Royal Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £40,000 per annum, bonus and benefits package 

 

The candidate will work with and support the Lifecycle Project Manager to deliver the scoping, specifying, planning, procuring and the operational delivery of Lifecycle requirements at the site and supporting on Variations and Small Works. The candidate will gain a detailed knowledge of the contract portfolio and commercial objectives, to identify all requirements and ensure all outcomes meet the contract Output Specification. 

What will you deliver?

 

  • Create all required tender specifications for required refurbishment works at site – encompassing building fabric, fixtures, fittings and furniture.
  • Engage with the supply chain and the client to identify products & finishes that meet both contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Liaise with the Technical Services Manager to scope & specify all required works.
  • Oversee the administration of Lifecycle budgets, forecasts, expenditure and purchasing through the Coupa procurement system.
  • Plan / Schedule all works and requirements, ensuring all scheduled activities are agreed with the Trust.
  • Continually review all possible routes to delivery of works, ensuring best value and maximum budget reach for EQUANS.
  • Work with the central procurement teams to identify suitable suppliers of products, materials and works packages as necessary, inclusive of inducting new suppliers to the site.
  • Take a direct role in site managing subcontractors delivering works on behalf of EQUANS.
  • Liaise with the SHEQ support teams to ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Statutory obligations for all Lifecycle activities, including direct & main contractor led workstreams.
  • Liaise with the commercial support teams to draft & issue EQUANS Works Subcontracts.
  • Take the leading role in snagging all works delivered, providing the final approval / acceptance of completed works. 
  • Support the Lifecycle Manager in liaising with EQUANS internal stakeholders for all planned works.
  • Ensure all O&M’s and Planned Preventative Maintenance activities are updated following delivery of works.
  • Support the local maintenance teams by managing and utilising the warranty periods for all new plant, equipment, fixtures & fittings when required.
  • Support the Lifecycle Manager with the management of the day to day FM operations as required.

Part time Morning Cleaner


Equans is looking for a Part time Morning Cleaner to join our team in Bath Law Court, North parade, Bath BA1 5AF  on a permanent basis working 15 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £12.21 per hour and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

As the on-site Cleaner, you’ll keep the building clean and tidy to the highest standard of hygiene, health and safety whilst maintaining a professional manner with all members of staff and general public.

Shift Maintenance Craftsperson


Equans is looking for a Shift Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical) to join our team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 39.375 hours per week. This is based on a shift pattern of four days on, four days off, made up of working two days 0700 - 1900 and two nights 1900 - 0700.

What will you deliver?

  • Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision
  • Set up New Work appropriate to candidates' own trade using relevant tools, equipment, and machinery, without supervision, as appropriate their grade
  • Carry out unsupervised maintenance and repairs and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Charge Hand/Supervisor
  • Duties will include but not limited to; Replacing belts, Replacing filters, Carrying out temperature checks, Monitoring the BMS, Repairing toilets and sinks, Repairing pipework
  • Required to learn new mechanical techniques with the appropriate training, as necessary
  • Scope of work will include entering Mortuary, ITU’s, A&E admissions, Operating Theatres etc after reporting to Trust Staff. Occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances could be encountered
  • Carry out daily PPMs and Maintenance checks

Who are you?

  • City & Guilds (or equivalent)  Mechanical qualifications. Understanding of AHU, FCU, pressurisation units, pumps and other commercial plantroom equipment
  • Relevant Plumbing qualification

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Craftsperson in a healthcare environment (desirable)

Management Accountant


Equans is looking for a Management Accountant to join our team at the University of West London a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The role offers hybrid working. There is an expectation to be on site 3 days per week. 

The Management Accountant is responsible for delivering professional, timely and accurate financial reporting & forecasting, for a range of business units. This is a broad role, which encompasses financial management, contractual support and risk management.

The ideal candidate will be part qualified and have experience within a similar role.

What will you deliver?

  • Take responsibility for producing timely/accurate/compliant monthly financial results (P&L and balance sheet), for each of the service lines within your scope. Produce forecasting exercises (budget and re-forecasts). Monitor, track and analyse the operational expenses in the month and recommend efficiencies where possible.
  • Presentation of meaningful trends and variance analysis to enable your customers to make informed decisions. Provision of internal and statutory audit justifications as required
  • Take responsibility for the production of key financial indicators. Analyse and provide recommendations to site management, to optimise the Company’s position (i.e. supplier payments, debtor days, etc)
  • Preparation of the monthly core service fee invoice and other invoices based on contractual information and operational records on non-core activity
  • Monitoring and chasing of debt with clients with a view to optimising cashflows in accordance with contractual arrangements
  • Evaluate and challenge - using appropriate data and analytics - the budgeting and operations of each site and service line: resource levels, performance vs. output specifications and suitable benchmarks
  • Support general managers to minimise performance penalties. Analyse root causes /recommendations
  • Liaise with relevant staff to improve paper flow and cash flow, making suggestions where appropriate
  • Assisting with analysing / auditing contractual compliance and risks, to provide sound support to site management, and ensure that the business is gaining full entitlement of contractual arrangements
  • Provide support to your manager and business leaders when pricing contractual variations and tendering for new opportunities (pricing, modelling, etc)
  • Play a key role with the Operational team reviewing the monthly Performance Management System with a view to minimising risk to the business
  • Take an active part in the optimisation of our management systems and reporting suite – to provide meaningful financial information to our customers, in the most effective way
  • Generate improvement areas for implementation

Equans is looking for a Talent and Development Officer to join our team in Hatfield. This is a full-time permanent role. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

To manage and monitor the Trainee, Apprentice and Graduate (TAG) Programme for Places and Communities and support employee learning and development opportunities. The role will be the point of contact for all Divisions and support Early Careers recruitment and Social Value contractual commitments

What will you deliver?

  • Manage the Trainee, Apprentice and Graduate (TAG) Programme from onboarding to achievement, in line with contractual, divisional, and business needs
  • Create TAG networking opportunities regionally and work with colleagues nationally
  • Ensure that all processes are followed for recruitment, enrolment, registration and achievement for TAGs and wider development programmes
  • Coordinate consistent reviews of progress, development, and achievement, liaising with Training Providers to collate progress updates
  • Identify any at risk learners to accurately RAG rate and implement any support required

  • Support L&D Manager and HR on succession planning, to support development and retention in the business

Mobile Water Treatment Technician


Equans is looking for a Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 2) to join our team in The South of England. The ideal location to be based will be able to cover from Reading down to Hampshire, into London and the South East. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week. What will you deliver?  

  • Representing EQUANS Water Compliance as a Water Treatment Technician to execute the self-delivery of all Water Treatment services across the South and South East of the UK
  • As a Tier 2 Water Treatment Technician - You will encompass Tier 1 (Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections and Cleans, Cooling Tower Clean and Disinfections, TMV Servicing, Water Sampling) and Tier 2 (Dosing of Inhibitor and Biocide, LTHW Systems Testing and Analysis)
  • Carry out PPM service visits using appropriate tools and systems
  • Ensure all site L8 logbooks where acting as the Primary Technician are in date and accurate
  • Liaise with procurement for material purchases using preferred supplier’s list
