Equans is looking for a IT Security Apprentice to join our Cyber Security team on an apprenticeship basis (2 years). This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £24,000 – £27,000, dependant upon skills and experience as well as benefits package.
This role supports the Cyber Security function across EQUANS UK & Ireland, helping to protect business systems, data and services through cyber security, risk, governance and compliance activities. As an apprentice cyber security technician you will assist with security incidents, support the maintenance of security certifications such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials, contribute to risk assessments and help promote a strong security culture across the organisation.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will be supported by experienced members of the Cyber Security team, receiving structured training, mentoring and hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 or Level 4 Cyber Security Apprenticeship, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical cyber security skills while building a rewarding career in a growing field.
Please note, there is no fixed location for this role, preference is for candidates who live close to one of our offices (please see our website for locations) however all candidates must have a valid right to work in the UK.
What will you deliver?
- Supporting the response to and resolution of cyber security incidents.
- Helping to ensure security controls meet business, compliance and legislative requirements.
- Working with stakeholders to provide security guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assisting with the implementation of security controls across business systems.
- Supporting ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, PCI DSS and internal audit activities.
- Contributing to risk assessments and business impact analyses for new and existing solutions.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of security policies, standards and procedures.
- Promoting cyber security awareness through training and engagement activities.

Who are you?
- This position requires no formal IT knowledge, although there is an expectation of a strong IT Security understanding and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. A desire to expand on fundamentals and a readiness to develop knowledge to a deeper degree. Enthusiasm and passion for IT Security is essential.
This role includes a Standard DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
