Senior Planner

Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint a Senior Planner to be based on a project site in Newport to assist the delivery of our projects. The Senior Planner will provide a professional planning service in every stage of the project lifecycle from tender, through to design, construction and commissioning. The Senior Planner will ensure all activities are captured, whilst playing a key role within project teams.

Equans Data Centers deliver fully integrated engineering solutions for technically detailed projects in the Data Center industry. The Senior Planner will provide professional planning services for project delivery and will have the scope to work on projects of different sizes in these sectors.

What you will deliver?

Provide planning services as a key part of the project team ensuring the teams are delivering on project time objectives.
Understand for each project the level of planning service and anticipated time allocation to provide that service.
Identifying, communicating and managing project risks. Collaborating with the team to solve any issues or problems.
Build strong internal and external relationship with the Planning department and broader project and client teams.
Communicating with other disciplines within production teams to ensure they are aware of their roles in meeting the programme.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and planning standards.
Providing detailed an accurate regular progress reporting to the project team and client as required.
Summarise projects status upstream to senior management, highlighting any unresolved major risks and potential overruns.
Manage time and workload to ensure deadlines are met. Highlight any potential work overload/slackening to Line Manager as soon as it is apparent.
Review processes to enhance planning best practice that can aid and improve performance and consistency, across the project teams and wider planning community.
Lead programme meetings and react quickly to any client-led changes, ensuring that there are auditable trails.

Form robust links with all key stakeholders by working closely with senior managers and directors.
Review projects that have deviated from plan and provide advice on plans and strategy, subsequent cause and effect and contribute to decisions as to the best way forward.

Who are we looking for?

Experience of construction projects across a broad range of sectors (bias towards Data Center and the Pharmaceutical (Cleanrooms/laboratories) industries).
Planning software expertise, preferably in P6 and Asta Powerproject.
Ability to manage multiple project programmes running in parallel.

Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of a project lifecycle: design, procurement, construction (structure, architecture, M&E services, process) and commissioning.
Excellent communication skills; ability to quickly and clearly articulate key issues and to listen and capture concerns of others.
Knowledge of the key features of common forms of contract entered into in UK.

Senior M&E Engineer

Equans is looking for a Senior M&E Engineer (Mechanically Biased) to join our team at Barnet General Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, based on a shift pattern of 6am to 3pm and 9am to 6pm rotating weekly. There is also an on-call rota which will include working on the Saturday and Sunday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role of Senior Engineer is part of the Contract Management team and as such you will be expected to be responsible to support the Management team in ensuring that the M&E/Fabric team delivers the contracted service to the highest quality whilst being committed to safety and following all company protocols.

What will you deliver?

Undertaking Responsible Person/Authorised Person duties required by the provision of the contract for the disciplines for which you have been appointed. To act as a role model for the operation of the Safe Systems of Work. To participate in the on call rota. To undertake training as required

M&E Technician

Equans is looking for two M&E Technicians, one Electrical Biased and the other Mechanically Biased to join our team at Barnet General Hospital on a permanent basis. This a leading role requiring a thorough understanding of engineering building services installation and maintenance techniques. To apply trade skills and experience to ensure the satisfactory completion of allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new and refurbishment works.

What will you deliver?

Take responsibility for all works issued and to ensure that all attendance and rectification times are achieved. Where not possible, to escalate to line Manager in good time in order that appropriate action can be taken to mitigate financial penalty risk
Ensure that all works assigned are managed so far as attendance and completion times, and that works orders are completed and update to the CAFM system (Maximo). Reports should be concise and include all relevant information to ensure that the workflow process is seamless
Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the Site
Maintain and carry out repairs on HVAC systems, gas appliances, Piped Medical Gas systems, steam plant/equipment and all other equipment in plant rooms, patient areas and other departments
Works will involve working in a live Hospital environment, working at height (Podiums), using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery/equipment for larger repairs (Doors etc). All PPE and training as appropriate will be provided

Streetworks Technician

Equans is looking for a Streetworks Technician to join our team in Grimsby. This is a full time, permanent role. On offer is a salary between £28,000- £29,500 depending on skills and experience, and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

Co-ordinate the work of a team of Streetworks Inspectors monitoring the progress and quality of works undertaken by statutory undertakers and others with powers to undertake work on the highway to ensure compliance with the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act under the delegated powers given to Equans by the local authority.
Liaison with Statutory Undertakers and attendance at pre-site meetings to plan works and to mitigate their impact on the local highway network.
Liaison with Statutory Undertakers managers and supervisors during works to ensure an effective programme of inspections of street works and compliance with the requirements of NRSWA on behalf of the local authority.
Carry out permit compliance checks in line with supplied conditions of statutory undertakers.
Monitor safety standards employed by those undertaking works on the highway ensuring that Equans meets its obligation for the safety of highway users by applying the delegated powers available to it.
Monitor the performance of the Streetworks Inspector team, highlighting and responding to any training or development requirements that are highlighted.
Maintain accurate records of inspections undertaken and the outcomes of these to ensure the Council has adequate records for future reference.
Liaise in a professional, efficient and courteous manner with elected members, the retained client, parish councils, neighbouring authorities, the general public and any other interested parties in relation to all street works activities.
Lead on the investigation of all reports of defective reinstatements, liaising with the contractor to seek appropriate resolution within identified timescales.
Ensure that reinstatements are completed in line with the appropriate standards/tolerances and within the required timescales.
Monitor the placing of skips, scaffolding etc, on the public highway, highlighting any examples of non-compliance with standards to the Streetworks Manager.

Service Manager - Hard FM

Equans is looking for a Service Manager - Hard FM to join our team in Brighton on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The post holder will manage a team of 2, and responsible for the cost-effective management of all subcontracted planned and reactive maintenance labour across M&E and Building Fabric disciplines. Responsible for site compliance reporting systems, collation of information, management of specialist service providers, asset database, Insurance registers and scheduling of planned preventative maintenance in conjunction with and the support of the Operational site management team. To liaise with the client team as required, attending meetings and delegating as required.

What will you deliver?

Responsibility for site management team, engineering team and of all sub-contracted labour resource in the delivery of Reactive maintenance request
Use of and administration CAFM (Maximo) system, Labour Management Systems, Building Management Systems, Planned Preventative Management Systems and Stock Control Systems and other databases to ensure the efficient utilisation of staff and resources and that financial targets are met/exceeded
Management of the site insurance register inspection schedules undertaken by sub[1]contracted labour force, ensuring all operational pressure systems plant and lifting equipment has asscociated written schemes of inspections assigned and maintenance schedules are programmed into the site Maximo System, and hard copy folders where applicable
Review existing PPM’s and if required, devise new PPM regimes for site assets to ensure optimum operational availability and life cycle
Collating documents for populating details for LCF planner and equipment replacement, assisted by site project manager and admin support.
Management of operational revenue budgets to maintain agreed expenditure levels and report on any discrepancies
Provide labour management, reactive and planned maintenance reports and identify where sub-contract resources need to be adjusted to meet operational requirements

Mobile BMS Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Smart Buildings business, covering parts of the Midlands on a permanent, full-time basis.

Smart Building have a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades / enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education & government sectors - across the country. In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become ‘Smart enabled’, meaning we can then introduce further value across sites via our IoT solutions; driving social, economic and environmental benefits to portfolios of sites and more importantly people operating and living within them.

Smart buildings currently deliver project works ranging from £10k - £1.5m in singular size + variations via an evolving blend of inhouse delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, this role will be paramount in helping to define shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably.

Key activities:

The role of Service Engineer will include carrying out a number of tasks on contracted customer sites, including PFI Schools, PFI Hospitals, Government Estates and MOD sites. Your day to day will include:

Install, configure, and commission BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
Carry out maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium and Distech BMS’s on our various sites.
Reactive call out rota will be worked (additional financial benefit included for being on call and attending)
Provide technical assistance and support to clients regarding their BMS systems.
Identify opportunities for improvement/remedial works to improve the performance of the BMS’s for our clients.
Prepare proposals and quoting of works as required.

Data Engineer

Equans is looking for an Date Engineer to join our team in on a 12 month FTC. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

As the organisation consolidates its data environment into Palantir Foundry, which is the cornerstone of our enterprise data architecture, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Equans’ capabilities in world-class data analytics, data science, and overall business intelligence.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated data engineer with deep expertise in Palantir Foundry. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with data architects, Palantir Foundry specialists, and cross-functional teams to deploy and maintain this platform. You will also guide the transition from our existing multi-cloud environment, ensuring the successful migration of critical datasets and applications to Palantir Foundry. As we aim to grow the team's expertise in Foundry, your ability to mentor others, share knowledge, and cultivate best practices will be crucial to the success of the data transformation initiative.

To accelerate this transformation, we are building a high-performance, cloud-native data platform based in Palantir Foundry. This platform will integrate our data streams, ensuring that analytics, machine learning, and AI pipelines can operate seamlessly and efficiently. As a member of our agile data team, you will contribute to this effort by designing and developing robust data pipelines, ensuring the integrity of the data, and providing innovative solutions for the evolving needs of Equans.

What will you deliver?

Develop high-performance data pipelines using Python (Pandas) or Spark within Palantir Foundry, ensuring seamless data transformation and integration to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases across the enterprise.
Design and implement reusable, scalable, and well-documented data workflows that ingest, transform, and curate data within Palantir Foundry, enabling the business to generate actionable insights and drive strategic decision-making.
Serve as a subject-matter expert on enterprise data within EQUANS, with a deep understanding of how data from core business processes flows through Palantir Foundry and is utilised across the organisation to support end-to-end reporting and analytics.
Lead workshops with business stakeholders to capture data requirements, translating these into flexible and scalable designs that utilise Palantir Foundry's advanced toolsets to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions that align with strategic objectives.
Demonstrate Palantir Foundry’s full potential by showcasing its capabilities to a diverse set of business stakeholders, guiding them in leveraging the platform’s full range of functionality to deliver transformative business outcomes.
Ensure the availability, performance, and integrity of all data services within Palantir Foundry, continuously monitoring and optimising data processes to meet stringent service level agreements (SLAs) and business requirements.
Develop and implement robust support and operational models for Palantir Foundry data services, ensuring a proactive approach to issue resolution, incident management, and ongoing maintenance to guarantee uninterrupted service.
Manage and deploy changes to data workflows, ensuring minimal disruption and downtime, while rigorously adhering to change management protocols and governance standards within the Palantir Foundry environment.
Collaborate closely with Palantir Foundry experts and consultants to continually enhance the platform's capabilities, staying at the forefront of innovations in data management and governance, while continuously growing your own expertise in Palantir Foundry to support strategic data initiatives at EQUANS UK.

Operational Administrator

Equans is looking for an Operational Administrator to support our growing EV solutions business in the UK. This role will support the effective Administration and commercial operation of the business. The role will support the Operational Administration team in helping to ensure that customer accounts are managed effectively through the provision of timely and accurate reporting, reconciliation and invoicing. That all public ChargePoint’s are advertised correctly and promptly, and that all charger information is continuously updated.

This role will also provide wider support where required to ensure continuous business improvement, looking to enable the improvement of customer management and processes as the business moves through rapid growth.

What will you deliver?

Customer Accounts – reporting for third party customers. Prepare reports and keep/update log of reporting and client share payments and balances. Ensure client share balances are processed for payment. Process invoicing to ensure invoices are raised for completed jobs, for account renewals and that this is reconciled against Chargers on Genie (Internal System)
Sales Support – all administration tasks to be completed quickly and efficiently to ensure accurate reporting and up-to-date records.

Audit of deferred income schedule (data and maintenance income) versus Genie – update Genie on contracts
Reconciliation of customer payments across systems

Update all ChargePoint’s on Genie with purchased products
Update all public registers with newly commissioned charger information
Create O&M and Welcome packs to be sent to Clients at the point of commissioning.
Facilitate handover meetings between the Sales teams and Project managers, and ensure all Administration tasks are completed during this process.
All work completed on time, to a high standard
Delivery of internal and external reporting as required
Support ad hoc commercial tasks as required including insurance claim processing and data reporting and management

Who are we looking for?

Strong Microsoft Office skills – particularly Excel
Experience of using customer and accounting software including SAP
Experience of managing customers with finance or accounts queries
Experience of gathering and presenting data
Proven ability to work on own initiative and within a team
Strong communication skills
Strong numeracy with basic financial/commercial understanding

Part Time Afternoon Cleaner

EQUANS is recruiting for a Part Time Afternoon Cleaner to be based in Park Street Primary School, Wombwell, Barnsley S73 0HS. This is a permanent role working 10 hours per week. On offer is salary of £11.44 per hour and benefits package.

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday 16:00 - 18:00

As a Cleaner you will oversee all aspects of running early morning / evening main cleaning of the premises. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring that your working areas are always within the standards of cleanliness expected by the customers. Maintain a good attendance and timekeeping record at all times.

For this role you must undergo BPSS level vetting. Part of this includes DBS clearance therefore ability to pass is essential.
