The Opportunity
As a Senior Electrician / Multi Service Technician, you'll become a trusted technical expert delivering preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and critical electrical services across a diverse customer portfolio.

What You'll Be Doing
Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding

  • Perform reactive and preventative maintenance across commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure sites.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently and safely.
  • Conduct inspections, testing and compliance activities.
  • Complete repairs and minor installations to the highest standard.

Critical Power Systems
Work on and support maintenance of:

  • UPS Systems
  • Static Transfer Switches (STS)
  • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)

  • Main Switchboards

Technical Services

  • Support electrical shutdowns and planned maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate specialist contractors and OEM providers.

  • Conduct inspections of associated building services equipment including pumps, VSDs and related assets.

Customer & Team Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with customers.
  • Provide professional technical advice and recommendations.
  • Mentor apprentices and developing technicians.
  • Work closely with interstate teams and technical specialists.
  • Participate in an on-call roster supporting emergency response works.

Administration & Compliance

  • Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately.

Travel & Variety

Mechanical Manager

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Manager to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, the Mechanical Manager is part of a larger site based team and has overall responsibility for leading the mechanical service delivery of Ventilation including Local Exhaust Ventilation, Fire Dampers & Motorised Fire & Smoke Dampers, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Chiller Plant, Water, MTHW, LTHW Boiler and Generator Services, and all associated equipment throughout the site.

This is a critical role, managing an important concession, providing critical services within a Healthcare environment.

What will you deliver?

  • Overall responsibility for all Pre Planned Maintenance Tasks ensuring they are completed timeously to the relevant Service Level Agreements; Key Performance Indicators and the relevant Standards appropriate to the assets.
  • Overall responsibility for all ongoing Reactive and associated works ensuring they are completed timeously to the Relevant Service Level Agreements; Key Performance Indicators and the relevant Standards appropriate to the assets.
  • Overall responsibility for the Health and Safety of the Supervisors, Engineering Team and Service Partners Including delivery of Toolbox Talks and any relevant updates.
  • Secondary point of contact for all escalations.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Compliance with all statutory requirements in relation to safe working practices and safe operation of plant, equipment and services and all activities essential to meet all relevant (Scottish) Health Technical Memoranda (S)HTM) and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Advising the Project Team with any technical input on the assets within the Mechanical Managers remit
  • Advise and update on an ongoing basis the Lifecycle Requirements of any assets within the Mechanical Managers remit.
  • Ensuring a collaborative approach between the Helpdesk, Supervisors and Engineering team.
  • Developing a good understanding of the overall contract

Who are we looking for?

  • Relevant formal technical & managerial experience.
  • Previous experience within a Healthcare Environment would be greatly advantageous
  • Holds or has held a relevant Appointed Persons Status. This position requires the holder to obtain AP (Vent)
  • Working Knowledge of the appropriate technical and safety standards including Scottish Health Technical Memorandums
  • City & Guilds 2079 would be advantageous
  • Experienced in water services within a healthcare environment.
  • Membership of an appropriate governing body or Institute, i.e. IHEEM, IMECHE
  • A relevant Health & Safety Qualification, i.e. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, CDM, SMSTS.

M&E Engineer

Equans is looking for an M&E Engineer to join our team based in Derby on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

We are seeking Engineers with an Electrical background that have some Mechanical knowledge/experience.
 

What will you deliver?

  • Carry out PPMs and Reactive works on the following but not limited to; Light fittings, Sockets, RCDs, Faulty Fridges and any other Electrical works
  • Carry out works on Mechanical equipment including in the energy centre, pressure vessels, water systems, air handling units, filter replacements etc.
  • Carry out reactive callouts on critical systems
  • Complete compliance testing and minor works to JSP375 standard
  • Undertake new installations, major and minor electrical repair works and attend to breakdown’s when required
  • Participate in on call rota

Managing Quantity Surveyor

Equans is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Swanage Court, Rotherham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview: 

Managing Quantity Surveyor responsible for delivering all commercial operations on the repairs, maintenance, and investment works contract, to RMBC’s housing stock.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor will oversee all commercial elements of the operational unit including management of commercial teams. To set and improve business standards within the teams and ensuring key systems and processes are adhered to. Protect the company’s interests at all times whilst ensuring Equans full contractual entitlement is recovered. To increase profitability whilst maintaining quality and customer relationships. To understand, adhere and assist were with implementing the company SHEQ policy/strategy.

What will you deliver?

  • Line management responsibility for all QS’s within the operating team
  • Lead financial strategy at Contract Establishment stage by implementing, monitoring, and managing our desired approach with QS teams
  • Maximise profitability on all operational schemes, by carrying out regular project performance reviews with the site teams and RD
  • Maximise variation and specification change opportunities on live schemes to ensure all opportunities of increased margins are identified and considered
  • Ensure all value is captured, inclusive of measuring and valuing all exclusion works using the agreed contract method
  • Overseeing and managing the submission of V.O's, quotations and estimates
  • Ensure sub-contract buying gains are maximized, working with the Regional director to ensure appropriate SC choices are made at contract set up
  • Establish accurate cost delivery data within the region, and work with estimating teams to ensure real delivery costs are incorporated into live tenders, attend financial tender adjudication reviews to discuss potential risk and opportunities at tender stage
  • Attend monthly senior commercial team meetings
