Streetworks Technician
Equans is looking for a Streetworks Technician to join our team in Grimsby. This is a full time, permanent role. On offer is a salary between £28,000- £29,500 depending on skills and experience, and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Co-ordinate the work of a team of Streetworks Inspectors monitoring the progress and quality of works undertaken by statutory undertakers and others with powers to undertake work on the highway to ensure compliance with the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act under the delegated powers given to Equans by the local authority.
- Liaison with Statutory Undertakers and attendance at pre-site meetings to plan works and to mitigate their impact on the local highway network.
- Liaison with Statutory Undertakers managers and supervisors during works to ensure an effective programme of inspections of street works and compliance with the requirements of NRSWA on behalf of the local authority.
- Carry out permit compliance checks in line with supplied conditions of statutory undertakers.
- Monitor safety standards employed by those undertaking works on the highway ensuring that Equans meets its obligation for the safety of highway users by applying the delegated powers available to it.
- Monitor the performance of the Streetworks Inspector team, highlighting and responding to any training or development requirements that are highlighted.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections undertaken and the outcomes of these to ensure the Council has adequate records for future reference.
- Liaise in a professional, efficient and courteous manner with elected members, the retained client, parish councils, neighbouring authorities, the general public and any other interested parties in relation to all street works activities.
- Lead on the investigation of all reports of defective reinstatements, liaising with the contractor to seek appropriate resolution within identified timescales.
- Ensure that reinstatements are completed in line with the appropriate standards/tolerances and within the required timescales.
- Monitor the placing of skips, scaffolding etc, on the public highway, highlighting any examples of non-compliance with standards to the Streetworks Manager.

Who are we looking for?
- Hold a Highway Inspection Qualification or a Streetworks Supervisors Accreditation. (National Highways Sector Scheme Part 12) or equivalent.
- Experience of carrying out the Streetworks Inspector function (or similar) on behalf of a local authority.
- Knowledge and experience of Highway / Civil Engineering construction methods, highway maintenance treatments, materials, and equipment
- Be able to work methodically and systematically and maintain robust and accurate records
- Be able to evidence a calm and professional approach to their duties
- Be self-motivated and be able to work unsupervised
- Experience of using specialist IT software systems, databases and spreadsheet systems

Service Manager - Hard FM
Equans is looking for a Service Manager - Hard FM to join our team in Brighton on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The post holder will manage a team of 2, and responsible for the cost-effective management of all subcontracted planned and reactive maintenance labour across M&E and Building Fabric disciplines. Responsible for site compliance reporting systems, collation of information, management of specialist service providers, asset database, Insurance registers and scheduling of planned preventative maintenance in conjunction with and the support of the Operational site management team. To liaise with the client team as required, attending meetings and delegating as required.
What will you deliver?
- Responsibility for site management team, engineering team and of all sub-contracted labour resource in the delivery of Reactive maintenance request
- Use of and administration CAFM (Maximo) system, Labour Management Systems, Building Management Systems, Planned Preventative Management Systems and Stock Control Systems and other databases to ensure the efficient utilisation of staff and resources and that financial targets are met/exceeded
- Management of the site insurance register inspection schedules undertaken by sub[1]contracted labour force, ensuring all operational pressure systems plant and lifting equipment has asscociated written schemes of inspections assigned and maintenance schedules are programmed into the site Maximo System, and hard copy folders where applicable
- Review existing PPM’s and if required, devise new PPM regimes for site assets to ensure optimum operational availability and life cycle
- Collating documents for populating details for LCF planner and equipment replacement, assisted by site project manager and admin support.
- Management of operational revenue budgets to maintain agreed expenditure levels and report on any discrepancies
- Provide labour management, reactive and planned maintenance reports and identify where sub-contract resources need to be adjusted to meet operational requirements

Mobile BMS Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Smart Buildings business, covering parts of the Midlands on a permanent, full-time basis.
Smart Building have a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades / enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education & government sectors - across the country. In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become ‘Smart enabled’, meaning we can then introduce further value across sites via our IoT solutions; driving social, economic and environmental benefits to portfolios of sites and more importantly people operating and living within them.
Smart buildings currently deliver project works ranging from £10k - £1.5m in singular size + variations via an evolving blend of inhouse delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, this role will be paramount in helping to define shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably.
Key activities:
The role of Service Engineer will include carrying out a number of tasks on contracted customer sites, including PFI Schools, PFI Hospitals, Government Estates and MOD sites. Your day to day will include:
- Install, configure, and commission BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
- Carry out maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium and Distech BMS’s on our various sites.
- Reactive call out rota will be worked (additional financial benefit included for being on call and attending)
- Provide technical assistance and support to clients regarding their BMS systems.
- Identify opportunities for improvement/remedial works to improve the performance of the BMS’s for our clients.

- Understanding of IT networks.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Experience with fault finding in electrical panels.

Operational Administrator
Equans is looking for an Operational Administrator to support our growing EV solutions business in the UK. This role will support the effective Administration and commercial operation of the business. The role will support the Operational Administration team in helping to ensure that customer accounts are managed effectively through the provision of timely and accurate reporting, reconciliation and invoicing. That all public ChargePoint’s are advertised correctly and promptly, and that all charger information is continuously updated.
This role will also provide wider support where required to ensure continuous business improvement, looking to enable the improvement of customer management and processes as the business moves through rapid growth.
What will you deliver?
- Customer Accounts – reporting for third party customers. Prepare reports and keep/update log of reporting and client share payments and balances. Ensure client share balances are processed for payment. Process invoicing to ensure invoices are raised for completed jobs, for account renewals and that this is reconciled against Chargers on Genie (Internal System)
- Sales Support – all administration tasks to be completed quickly and efficiently to ensure accurate reporting and up-to-date records.

Equans are recruiting for a Stock Controller to be based onsite in Andover, SP10 3LF. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £31,440 and excellent benefits package.
The role holder will have responsibility for managing stock-related operations across both the Andover and Sizewell ERC sites, ensuring adherence to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintaining stringent standards of equipment compliance and maintenance.

What will you deliver?
