The primary responsibilities of this role are to perform technical work on building services equipment in accordance with Equans safety, quality and customer standards ensuring that the Company is meeting its objectives and budgets as required.

• Survey customer premises and ensure HVAC and refrigeration systems are inspected and tested according to Australian Standards, client and Company expectations and contractual obligations.
• Ability to effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on air conditioning systems to minimise the number of call backs to a site with the ability to determine job priorities and to meet deadlines.
• Install parts such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, air filters, switches and gauges, and copper lines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, fuel, oil and chilled water.
• Attach piping to refrigeration systems follow plans and specifications to install units drill holes.
• Fill systems with gas or fluid and test for leaks.
• Fixing, securing, mounting, basic fitting and fabrication techniques.
• Use of drawings, diagrams, cable schedules, standards, codes and specifications.
• Carry out basic connections of refrigeration and air conditioning piping/tubing and fittings.
• Install refrigeration and air conditioning systems and associated equipment.
• Test and visually inspect refrigeration and air-conditioning system and components for safety.
• Locate and rectify faults in appliances intended to operate to a connected supply up to 1000 volts AC or 1500 volts DC.
• Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
• Operate computerised energy management systems for the purpose of setting time schedules, heating and cooling settings, pump operations, and troubleshooting system failures.
• Transports various items (e.g., tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site.
• Maintain a current industry knowledge and keep self-updated with changes and advances in air conditioning systems and technology.
• Effectively manage administrative requirements including call reports and timesheets.
• Participate in the “On Call Roster” to attend to afterhours service calls. Attend to call outs (after hours / in business hours) as per the rostered required.
• Attend toolbox meetings and training as required.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and processes.
• Ensure highest level of presentation, including individual and vehicle presentation.
• Other duties as directed by manager.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Level of Education

• Certificate III in Airconditioning and Refrigeration (Mandatory)

Licenses/Certificates

• Restricted Electrical Licence (Mandatory)
• CPR/LVR (Mandatory)
• Refrigerant Handling License (Mandatory)
• Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
• QBCC License – Airconditioning and Refrigeration (Occupational) – (Mandatory)
• EWP (Highly Desirable)
• Working at Heights (Highly Desirable)
• Construction Induction Card (Highly Desirable)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in the commercial and industrial service, maintenance, and installation of equipment within the building services industry
• High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of the relevant codes and industry standards within the field of work.
• A solid knowledge of the applicable Australian Standards relevant to equipment.
