Equans is looking for a Working Supervisor to join our team in Rotherham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role, on offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Role Overview

As an Estates Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, supervision, and development of a team of 9 Estates Operatives, ensuring the efficient delivery of estate maintenance services across a portfolio of approximately 480 sites. Working closely with and reporting directly to the Team Leader, you will oversee the planning, production, and successful delivery of cyclical maintenance programmes while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, service standards, and client expectations.

What will you deliver?

  • Supervise and manage a team of 9 Estates Operatives, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve operational objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with the Team Leader and provide regular updates on performance, programme delivery, resource allocation, and operational issues.
  • Oversee the production, scheduling, and management of cyclical maintenance programmes covering approximately 480 separate sites.
  • Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed service levels.
  • Monitor work quality and productivity to ensure high standards are maintained across all estates services.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor resources to meet programme requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with company standards and client specifications.
  • Manage and prioritise daily workloads, responding effectively to changing operational demands.

Who are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Previous experience supervising operational or estates maintenance teams.
  • Experience managing cyclical maintenance programmes across multiple sites.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance and estates services.
  • Good organisational and planning abilities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
  • Experience working within social housing, local authority, or facilities management environments.
  • Knowledge of environmental and waste management regulations.
