Equans is looking for an Apprentice Co Ordinator to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
A fantastic opportunity to support, manage and monitor the Apprentice schemes for Sustainable FM North and to support employee learning and development opportunities.
The role will be the point of contact for the Early Careers team and will increase our Social Value commitments throughout the divisions.
This role will deliver growth in our apprentice numbers and to support the apprentice levy ensuring we capitalise on this spend and improve apprentice retention.
What will you deliver?
- Manage the Apprentice Programme from onboarding to achievement, in line with contractual, and divisional.
- Create Apprentice networking opportunities regionally and working with colleagues nationally.
- Ensure that all processes are followed for recruitment, enrolment, registration and achievement for Apprentice and wider development programmes working with the early careers team.
- Ensure managers of apprentices are trained in how to support and manage an apprentice.
- Coordinate consistent reviews of progress, development, and achievement, liaising with Training Providers to collate progress updates.
- Identify any at risk learners to accurately RAG rate and implement any support required with the site team.
- Identify hi-potential Apprentices and map to internal talent identification process.
- Work with early careers team and HR operation on succession planning, to support development and retention in the business.
- Work with the early careers team and HR to identify current and future skills gaps.
- Build and manage relationships with external providers and monitor their performance and feedback any issues to early careers team.
- Act as a support function for Apprentices, offering pastoral care and signposting for additional learning support.
- Be point of contact for the North Apprentices and offer advice and guidance on early careers options and opportunities.
- Manage internal Apprentice awards nominations throughout the year and feed into the early career award process.
- With local HR team support with Bids – advise on local providers and opportunities and link into succession planning where possible.
- Support work-based mentors and ensure required training and guidance is available.
- Promote Equans apprentice scheme working with the early careers team to attend local career fairs / school and college events etc.
- Working with organisations such as WISE, to support women in engineering apprenticeships.
- Supporting current employees with career path planning by entering an apprenticeship program.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience in being responsible for own workload, diary management and working independently to tight schedules
- Able to use a Learning Management System
- Experience working in an Educational Setting or with Apprenticeships providers.
- Experience of working with community groups and Local Authorities
- Presentation skills and experience in delivering briefing sessions.
- Knowledge of Apprenticeships and Educational routes into Facilities Management
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to use MS Office Software, Excel, Teams, Word and Power Point
- Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
- Understanding of Social Value and contributing to the delivery of public and private sector employment and skills plans
- Understanding of assessment practice and methodology
- Strong people skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to build purposeful relationships across the Sustainable FM Division, operational HR & HR Centre of Excellence
