Position Overview

The Senior Planner is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, and control of project schedules across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) activities. The role provides critical planning expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Working closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement specialists, site management, and client representatives, the Senior Planner will establish robust project controls processes and provide accurate reporting of schedule performance, risks, and forecast completion dates.

The team you’ll be joining

Our Australian team consists of approximately 50 highly skilled engineers, and it is expanding rapidly due to the growth of large-scale hybrid projects.

As we enter into new opportunities involving substations and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), our central engineering team overseas will provide support to ensure smooth integration and implementation.

Additionally, you will maintain frequent communication with Project Managers, ensuring cohesive collaboration and successful project outcomes.

Solar & Storage Solutions for Energy Efficiency | Equans

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop, maintain, and update fully integrated EPC schedules using Primavera P6.
• Establish and manage project baselines, schedule updates, progress measurement, and forecasting.
• Perform detailed critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare Schedule Performance Index (SPI), schedule variance analysis, and recovery plans.
• Lead monthly schedule reviews with project stakeholders and clients.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier schedules and integrate them into the master project programme.
• Support contract administration through delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) assessments, and schedule impact evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with company Project Controls standards and planning procedures.

The profile we’re looking for:

• Minimum 8-10 years of planning and scheduling experience within EPC, infrastructure, energy, or construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience on utility-scale Solar, BESS, Wind, Transmission, or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience performing critical path analysis and schedule forecasting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
