Contract Manager
We are looking for 2 contract managers: one with Dutch as preferred language and one with French as preferred language. In this role, you ensure alignment between contracts, clients and project teams from tender to completion. Role overview

EC&I Apprentice

Role overview
The EC&I Apprentice will gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical control and instrumentation systems in a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) station. This role provides structured learning opportunities combined with practical application in a critical energy generation environment, helping develop skills required to become a fully qualified EC&I technician.
Key Activities:
- This is an apprentice role, focusing on the development of necessary skills to complete the apprenticeship programme. They will be supported by the onsite technical team with an assigned mentor.
- Where suitable as their knowledge base increases they will gain responsibilities for the maintenance and calibration of site equipment.
- They will work mainly with the site EC&I technician, though will support site operations and other technical disciplines as required to ensure operational stability.
- Whilst based at Leeds GSC, where mutually agreed there may be opportunity to support other sites within the DES portfolio to both satisfy the developmental needs of the apprentice and the operational needs of the business.
- The role will encompass the whole facet of maintenance, including planned and reactive works using all tools at their disposal including knowledge gained from others, interpretation of technical literature and drawings and personal experience.
- Comply with Equans Safe Systems of Work and approved working procedures to ensure safe working.
- Develop through both academic study and hands on experience, creating a personal portfolio of work to demonstrate they have achieved the criteria required by the apprenticeship programme.
- Carry out calibration and functional testing of instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and valve positioners under supervision.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and testing of electrical control systems, sensors and other instrumentation equipment.
Skills, qualifications & experience:
- Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English, and Science.
- Demonstrated interest in electrical, controls, and instrumentation technologies.

Role overview
The Bid Manager plays a vital role in supporting the team to secure new contracts through efficient and accurate bid preparation, coordination, pipeline management and management of tender portals client procurement portals. This role involves liaising with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to gather required information, formatting and compiling bid documents, managing bid timelines, and maintaining the central bid tracking systems. The Bid Manager ensures all bids are submitted on time, compliant with company standards, and support a smooth transition upon successful award.
Key activities
- Coordinating communication with external suppliers to collect pricing, technical, and compliance information required for bids.
- Managing and driving the bid submission timeline, coordinating with internal staff to meet deadlines.
- Formatting bid documents to professional standards and compiling final submissions.
- Governing the handover process to project delivery teams upon bid success.
- Maintaining and updating the list of active bids, providing the bid team with clear visibility on status and next actions.
- Supporting process improvements within the bid management cycle to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Skills, qualifications and experience
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role within a sales environment.
- Competence in managing deadlines and coordinating diverse stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in document formatting and bid tracking tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple bids simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and bid requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience working across multiple business units or regions is advantageous.

Role overview
The Survey Manager will take charge of our engineering survey projects across the UK and Ireland. The postholder will handle the day-to-day running of jobs, making sure surveys are planned well, delivered safely and finished on time and on budget.
The work covers all sorts of surveys – including topographical, measured building, setting out, laser scanning, utility mapping etc. No two projects are the same, so you’ll need to be flexible and comfortable juggling different tasks. You’ll work alongside our project teams, manage subcontractors when we need them, write up fee quotes and give technical advice when it’s needed.
Key activities
- Run several survey projects at the same time.
- Plan and coordinate site teams, equipment and resources.
- Bring in and manage specialist survey subcontractors when needed.
- Put together quotes, fee proposals and project programmes.
- Keep track of project progress, budgets and resource use.
- Talk to clients, project managers, designers and operational teams.
- Make sure we follow company rules, industry standards and client specs.
- Check survey outputs and carry out quality assurance.
- Handle large and complex survey datasets.
- Support bids and business development where you can.
- Offer technical guidance to surveyors and project teams.
- Keep an eye out for new tech and better ways of working.
- Help the Engineering Surveys team grow and develop.
Skills, qualifications and experience
- A degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or similar – or solid industry experience instead.
- Proven experience running engineering survey projects.
- A good background in engineering surveying on infrastructure and construction sites.
- Experience managing several projects at once.
- Experience leading survey teams and managing subcontractors.
- Good client relationship and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and experience writing quotes and fee proposals.
- A strong grasp of quality assurance processes.
- Experience processing and managing complex survey data.
- Good knowledge of total stations, GNSS, laser scanning, and modern survey kit.
- A full UK driving licence.
