We have a great opportunity within Equans Embedded Energy for an EC&I Technician to join our maintenance team at Fellside CHP plant just outside the Sellafield estate.
Equans Embedded Energy operates multiple customer sites with large-scale embedded energy capacity across the UK, providing specialist management of onsite generation for industrial processes and the ability to export to the Grid. We combine multiple technologies to meet our customers’ specific needs, and provide design, build, operate and maintenance services. We are experts in many technologies, including combined heat and power (CHP), biomass, and energy from waste. By locating generation on customers’ sites we provide our customers with industry leading safety management, reduced energy costs and carbon footprint and assured energy security for their operational needs.
Key Activities:
- Perform programmed maintenance work, defect rectification, emergent and project work relating to rotating and stationary equipment.
- Providing timely feedback and completion of the Electronic Shift Log and the Site CMMS (Maximo).
- Carry out Risk Assessments and produce method statements that detail the safest method to carry out work.
- Troubleshoot assigned EC&I problems, resolving and documenting issues.
- Provide EC&I technical support for day-to-day Engineering and Maintenance activities.
- Produce and improve maintenance procedures, work plans, project scoping documents and contractor work scopes.
- Specify and order assigned spares/replacement equipment in line with site quality procedures.
- Supervise contractor personnel to ensure all work is technically correct and in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Work alongside other members of the Engineering and Maintenance/ Operations Team to review contractor method statements, risk assessments & other required safety documentation for fitness for purpose.
- Understand the requirements of current standards and key legislation, including DSEAR, EAWR & HASAWA, and work to ensure full compliance.
- Update work order records and reports through site CMMS.
- Provide out of hours cover on a 1 week in 3 on call rota.
Skills, qualifications & experience:
- Time served apprenticeship or NVQ 3 in Electrical, Instrument or Control, discipline.
- Knowledge of instrument and control theory.
- Basic knowledge of The Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Knowledge of plant SHE systems & procedures.
- Understanding of Permit to work systems, risk assessment and method statement documentation.
- Knowledge of sub-stations and motor control centres, transformers and generators.
- Good understanding of EC&I problem solving techniques and ability to read single line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.
- Good understanding of process instrumentation, 4-20mA loops, HART, Modbus, Profibus etc.
- Experience with supervision of consultants/contractors to successfully complete projects & meet contractual objectives/obligations.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office packages to produce associated documents.
- Basic understanding of spending procedures for ordering goods and services.

Environmental Advisor
Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint an Environmental Advisor to support the growth in our data center sector.
Our commitment is to provide cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Center facilities. We are recruiting an Environmental Advisor to work with our project team to provide support our aim towards decarbonisation.
Based on the construction sites, the successful candidate will be the main point of contact for all Environmental management within the Data Center sites. This role will include regular travel to sites.
What you will deliver?
- Organise and arrange all site level environmental monitoring, measurement and reporting for all regulatory, compliance and business purposes
- Assist with the delivery of central carbon reduction targets for projects
- Implement waste reduction plans involving circular economy and waste diversion resulting in waste prevention
- Embed Sustainable practices on site delivering training and toolbox talks and support the identification and implementation of preventative measures
- Assist the project teams to achieve BREEAM/LEED rating and certification when required
- Provide guidance and ensure that Project Teams are effectively managing all relevant environmental aspects to reduce risk on site
- Act as a site level advisor on business related local and national environmental regulatory requirements
- Monitor and report on our environmental performance and regularly undertake site level inspections
- Assist in the preparation and review of project environmental documents
- Assist the Project Teams in the management and investigation of environmental incidents
- Complete regular internal environmental reports highlighting site performance against current KPI’s
- Collaborate with the central Environmental & Sustainability team in driving the environmental agenda by improving performance across the data center business area and companywide though written communications.
- Upskill and support teams, acting as a facilitator when delivering site based environmental training
- When required, act as an advisor to clients for any environmentally related issues or activities
- Review and discuss internal environmental reports highlighting site performance against current KPI’s
- Ensure that sites have all correct permits and licences for conducting any activities that have an environmental impact.

Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor or similar role
- Knowledge of the application of ISO14001

Jeopardy Coordinator
Equans is looking for a Jeopardy Coordinator to join our team on the Rotherham Schools contract, based at Venture House, Rotherham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,965 per annum and benefits package.
We are recruiting for a Jeopardy Coordinator reporting to the Workflow Manager based at the Rotherham Office. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Rotherham and Barnsley contracts working to minimise the risk of financial deductions associated with SLA failures and or Unavailability.
You will support and contribute to producing monthly pay-mech reports in readiness for submission within monthly reporting packs including co-ordinating responses to mitigations within the pay-mech reports. The candidate will also provide learning outputs from pay-mech deductions which shall be utilised for training purposes for the workflow, operational and site-based teams.
What will you deliver?
- Act as focal point for jeopardy management processes across all helpdesk work order requests, acting as the interface between the workflow, operational, commercial, site teams and service partners to ensure that the deduction risk to EQUANS is minimised.
- Support the mapping of bespoke Jeopardy Management processes including agreeing demarcation of responsibility between Workflow, Operational and site teams.
- Proactively review Maximo and Power BI dashboards to identify work orders that are at risk or breaching SLA. Proactively communicate risk, suggested remedies and co-ordinate responses between workflow, site based, sub-contractors and operational teams to minimise future deductions.
- Liaise with sub-contractors and in house operatives to confirm attendance details for all works raised and ensure appropriate reports are received and work orders closed with accurate date/times. Supporting workflow teams by updating Maximo Job Notes directly.
- Review breached helpdesk work orders, support workflow team in facilitating completion of work orders, potential mitigation or extension of time requests or other appropriate relief events to minimise risk.
- Identify and prioritising higher value deductions/work orders where multipliers or ratchets are being applied to penalties to ensure that the correct levels of escalation and focus are applied to minimise deductions.
- Produce analytical data reports on helpdesk work order performance in month, including regular updates / forecast on potential future Pay-mech deductions.
- Produce routine reports/presentations/statistical data for the management team to assist with the effective management of the contract.
- Qualitive reviews, maintenance and management of CAFM system data inputting, ensuring accurate recording, population, and distribution of work orders is being carried out.
- Hold regular meetings/calls and training with relevant internal and external teams to feedback on learnings from the previous Pay-Mech deductions to ensure a consistent and expected level of service delivery is being achieved.
- Produce analysis on Sub-contractor performance and the impact of individual suppliers on deductions including supporting the recovery of pass-through deductions with the supply chain.
- Provide cover/support for workflow manager and workflow teams for absence and sick.
- Review and understanding of commercial contracts within the context of the pay-mech calculations, scope of works, contractual relief, mitigation and extension of time events.
- Lead on monthly Pay-mech reports including producing and co-ordinating Mitigation responses.
- Attendance at monthly Pay-mech meetings and liaison with SPV and Authority representatives in relation to Pay-Mech responses.
- Working in collaboration with colleagues from commercial, finance and procurement to produce information or reports as appropriate.
- Working within the operating environment to ensure EQUANS’s Code of Conduct is thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices.

Contracts Administrator - Technical Scheduler
Equans is looking for a Contracts Administrator - Technical Scheduler to join our team based in Reading on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £27,000 - £28,600 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience and benefits package.
As Technical Scheduler, you will be part of the Administrative Team for Equans Water Compliance. You will work closely with the Regional Managers & Supervisors to ensure all water treatment works (PPM, reactive & quoted) are scheduled and dealt with in a timely manner in accordance with the contractual requirements, in order to meet KPI’s and strict timescales for water testing requirements. We are looking to hold interviews on Microsoft Teams on the 5th, 6th & 7th August.
What will you deliver?
- Schedule PPM and reactive works in a timely manner ensuring contractual KPI’s are met
- Logging and assigning jobs on CAFM systems Planon, E-logs and other customer based systems if necessary ensuring all systems are continuously updated
- Liaising with appropriate parties (both internal and external) to provide necessary updates and supporting information when requested. Issue purchase orders when required
- Carry out regular analysis of current PPM regime to identify current trends and patterns to achieve effective delivery of engineering resource
- Liaise with water laboratories when required to arrange sample collections

- Understand each project thoroughly, plan, and monitor all necessary steps, project milestones, and organize all aspects of the project from start to finish.
- Prepare the Project Documentation
- Coordinate with the project teams to establish realistic estimates and timelines for each project.
- Prepare reports, summaries, charts, graphs and PowerPoint presentations to facilitate and communicate projects and programmes
- Maintain a designated project folder for each individual project, and manage good practice record keeping.
- Develop and maintain the project or programme Risk Register.
- Break the project into milestones and manage set times as well as budget figures for each work element.
- On large projects manage Gateway approvals, responsible for checking each gateway and ensuring that the management aspects have been satisfied on both process and deliverables.
- Carry out the role of Project Manager when required on minor projects.
- Provide the existing managers within Embedded Generation with project support
- Maintain the project management system to ensure that best practice and key knowledge is shared.
- Ensure project audits are completed and actions implemented.
- Communicate project status clearly and frequently with project steering committee and project team.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.

Pay and Benefits Administrator
Equans is looking for a Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join the Employee Services team based from Quorum Business Park, Newcastle on a permanent basis. This is a full time working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
As a Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you will maintain effective procedures and processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness across all payroll and benefit services in line with agreed SLAs and KPI’s. What will you deliver?
- Ensure payroll and benefit processes are in line with current legislation.
- Operate in line with payroll and benefit procedures and processes including:
- Variable data input.
- Process payroll cycle from input to BACS creation.
- Absence Administration (Eg. SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP).
- Statutory and voluntary deductions from pay.
- Liaise with line managers and HR partners to resolve employee queries.
- Tax code changes, P45, P60, RTI submissions.
- Payroll and benefit reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, validated and inline with policy and legislation.
- Annual pension returns.
- Input pension amendments and process auto enrolment.
- Pension reconciliation and upload to providers portals.
- Update benefits portal for new starters or monthly amends.
- Support the administrative activity of the annual benefits window, ensuring payments and deductions are calculated and recorded in system.

Als Senior Engineer Meet- & Regeltechniek Utiliteit bij Equans in Roden ben jij de cruciale schakel die zorgt voor optimale samenwerking tussen de verschillende engineering- en uitvoeringsafdelingen binnen onze uiteenlopende projecten in de regio Noord. Met jouw expertise en ervaring garandeer je dat de meet- en regelinstallaties bij diverse HVAC-projecten soepel en betrouwbaar functioneren, volledig afgestemd op de wensen van onze klanten en de geldende standaarden.
In deze rol ben je verantwoordelijk voor het volledige traject van ontwerp tot oplevering van automatiseringssystemen binnen meet- en regeltechniek. Je waarborgt een uniforme aanpak binnen de afdeling, waarbij je bestaande standaarden toepast en waar nodig aanpast aan specifieke klantbehoeften. Je hebt oog voor detail en signaleert afwijkingen of knelpunten in de installaties tijdig. Door grondige analyse en proactieve communicatie met collega’s van andere disciplines en de Projectleider Meet- & Regeltechniek, voorkom je verstoringen en zorg je voor effectieve oplossingen. Bovendien beheers je de administratieve processen rondom projecten, zodat alle benodigde documentatie van het ontwerpstadium tot de eindoplevering en de gebruikersinstructies compleet en up-to-date zijn.
Het werkveld waarin je actief bent, is zeer divers: van ziekenhuizen en kantoorcomplexen tot industriële sites. Deze variatie zorgt ervoor dat geen dag hetzelfde is en biedt flexibiliteit in het werk.
Je werkzaamheden bestaan verder uit het:
- Coördineren van technische afstemming tussen verschillende disciplines en projectteams om consistentie en kwaliteit te waarborgen.
- Begeleiden van montage- en inbedrijfstellingswerkzaamheden op locatie, waarbij je toezicht houdt op correcte uitvoering volgens het ontwerp.

- Participer aux chiffrages et aux visites de site en amont des projets ;
- Préparer les chantiers en coordination avec le Responsable d'Affaires ;

Formation technique dans le domaine de la tuyauterie industrielle, de la chaudronnerie ou équivalent ;
Expérience significative de plus de 5 ans sur une fonction similaire en tuyauterie industrielle indispensable et en gestion de chantier ;
Solides compétences en organisation, coordination et management d'équipes ;
Sens du service client et excellent relationnel ;
Maîtrise des règles de sécurité en environnement industriel ;
La connaissance de la DESP (Directive des Équipements Sous Pression) constitue un véritable atout.

Vos principales responsabilités
- Analyser les cahiers des charges et dossiers d'appels d'offres.
- Étudier la faisabilité technique des projets navals.

- Consulter les fournisseurs et les services internes pour obtenir les données de prix.

Votre profil
- Connaissances en construction navale, mécanique, structures ou systèmes embarqués.
- Maîtrise du calcul de coûts et du chiffrage industriel.
- Lecture de plans et de documents techniques.
- Bonne maîtrise d'Excel, Microsoft Project ou équivalent et parfois d'outils ERP ou logiciels de gestion de projets.
- Rigueur, esprit d'analyse et capacités rédactionnelles.
- BTS ou DUT en construction navale, génie mécanique, industrialisation ou maintenance navales
- 3 à 5 ans d'expérience dans le secteur naval, maritime, défense ou industrie complexe.
- Une expérience en bureau d'études, méthodes, industrialisation ou gestion d'affaires constitue un avantage.
- Anglais professionnel et technique (échanges clients et partenaires internationaux).
